About the box

What is Book Nook Box?

Book Nook Box is a monthly subscription designed to bring a
little magic into your reading space. Each box includes a curated selection of cosy, whimsical, bookish treasures. For Glimmer and Realm subscribers, a hand‑picked indie‑authored book chosen for its originality, emotion and unforgettable storytelling will also be included.

What’s the difference between Whisper, Glimmer and Realm boxes?

  • Whisper:

A book‑free experience filled with 2–4 magical, cosy, bookish items

  • Glimmer:

Includes everything in the Whisper Box plus an extra treat and one indie authored paperback or hardback book

  • Realm:

Our most immersive tier with 6-8 premium items, exclusive extras and a standout indie book

Do you have books in the boxes?

Yes.

Our Whisper box is life-style only.

The Glimmer and Realm boxes will feature a hand selected book each month.

Will I know what book I will receive?

No.

You won’t know which book awaits you… the mystery is part of the magic, although there may be some teasers on our social media.

What type of books do you feature?

We spotlight romance‑forward stories with atmosphere.

Dark romance, romantasy, dark academia, dystopian and character‑driven fantasy with strong romantic arcs. Occasionally something that melds genres together effortlessly.

Think strong FMC's, morally grey MMC's, and sometimes reverse‑harem/why choose dynamics.

How do you choose the books?

Every Glimmer and Realm book is hand‑selected after months
of reading and research. We prioritise indie authors, unique worlds,
emotional depth and stories that feel fresh and unforgettable.

Are the books always new releases?

Not always. We focus on hidden gems, standout indie titles and books that deserve more love, whether they’re brand‑new or quietly brilliant. The majority will be brand new but there will be the occasional lesser known gem that makes it’s way in to the box.

Books will all be standalone or the first in a series.

What else is in the box?

All of our boxes will contain a mix of moody, magical and beautifully crafted items such as:

  • Self‑care treats and beauty products
  • Book lover themed décor
  • Romantasy inspired jewellery and trinkets
  • Candles and wax melts
  • Stationery and bookish treats
  • Warm fluffy items - cosy socks, fluffy blankets
  • Kitchen goodies - hand made glasses and quirky mugs

Every box is designed to transform your reading nook into a cosy, atmospheric escape.

Where are the products manufactured?

Our products are manufactured both locally and globally. We carefully select our manufacturing partners to ensure our products are high quality and a fair value.

Lots of our products are handmade in the UK by us! Where possible we collaborate with other small UK businesses and manufacturers, to bring you truly unique items.


Subscriptions and shipping

How does it work?

You choose your tier (Whisper, Glimmer or Realm) and we send you a curated box every month. Subscriptions renew automatically unless cancelled.

What is the payment date?

Your subscription will renew on the same date each month as your original order.

Where do you ship?

We currently ship to the UK mainland only. More locations may be added as we grow.

How much is shipping?

Subscription shipping is £4.95 per month.

P&P for our shop is £4.95 for standard shipping and £6.95 for express delivery.

When do boxes ship?

Boxes typically ship between the middle to end of each month. Shipping windows may vary slightly during holidays or special editions.

Will I receive tracking information?

Yes. You’ll receive a tracking email as soon as your box ships.

Can I skip a month?

Yes. You can skip any month through your account dashboard before the billing date.

Can I cancel anytime?

Absolutely, although we hope you don't! You can cancel through your account dashboard. Cancellations apply to future renewals, not boxes already billed.

Can I return or exchange items?

Due to the curated nature of our boxes, we don’t accept returns or exchanges. If something arrives damaged, contact us within 7 days with your order number and we’ll make it right.

You can update everything through your account dashboard.
Just make sure changes are made before the next billing date.

Do you include physical books in the box?

Yes. We offer physical books in 2 of our subscriptions boxes.

What genres perform best with your audience?

Dark romance, romantasy, dark academia and character‑driven
fantasy with strong romantic arcs.

How do you choose with authors you work with?

We review indie submissions and actively seek out books with strong writing, compelling characters and immersive world‑building.

We prioritise standalones or first‑in‑series titles and select stories we truly believe our readers will love.

Where possible we ask to be include in the ARC process to ensure the book is the right fit for Book Nook Box.

Can you support backlist titles?

Occasionally, if the book aligns with a monthly theme or trending aesthetic.

How do your collaborations support new releases?

YWe focus on finding best new releases and offer spotlight features, themed items and social media campaigns that build hype around launch window where possible.

Do you offer PR boxes?

Yes. If you want us to be involved in the launch of your book, we can help design and send PR boxes ahead of the release date.

What is the typical reach of your promotions?

Our content is shared across Instagram, TikTok, Facebook, newsletters and subscriber communities, with strong long‑tail visibility.

Do you require exclusivity?

Yes, however, we’re flexible and happy to work alongside other marketing efforts as long as there is no conflict of interest. We typically ask for your book not to be in another book box for 3 months either side of your feature in Book Nook Box.

What approvals do you need from publishers?

Approval for digital extras, themed item concepts and any promotional copy referencing the book or author.

How early should we reach out?

Ideally 6-9 months before the desired feature month, however, we can work with shorter deadlines so it is always worth contacting us.

How do you choose which small businesses to work with?

We partner with small businesses whose products feel magical, high‑quality and aligned with our romantasy‑inspired themes. We
prioritise indie makers, handcrafted items, and creators who bring something unique to our boxes.

What types of products are you looking for?

We love candles, jewellery, self‑care items, stationery, art prints, treats, trinkets and magical or cosy bookish accessories.

Anything that enhances the reading experience.

Do items need to be handmade?

Not always but we do prioritise handcrafted, small‑batch or artist‑designed products that feel personal and special.

How many items do you need per month?

Quantities vary depending on the box tier but we typically need enough stock for a full subscription run.

We’ll discuss exact numbers during collaboration planning.

Do you pay for items?

Yes, we pay wholesale rates for all products included in our boxes. We believe in supporting small businesses fairly and sustainably.

Can I send samples?

Absolutely. Samples help us assess quality, packaging and theme fit. We’ll let you know where to send them once we begin the conversation.

How do I apply or express interest?
